Bower and Lois Severt Memorial Scholarship for Education

To provide scholarship support to one student having graduated from a high school located in Ashe County, North Carolina, and majoring in the Reich College of Education. Preference shall be given to Special Education majors demonstrating financial need, but the FASFA is not required. The successful candidate will demonstrate acceptable academic excellence, multifaceted interests, liveliness of mind and spirit, good communication skills, and the desire and potential to become a first-class teacher.

The recipient of this award is encouraged to provide Mr. Dennis R. Severt with an acknowledgment letter and additional information as is the standard protocol through the Office of Donor Services. Award is renewable based upon verification of satisfactory academic performance. Administration related to this endowment is the responsibility of the Dean of the Reich College of Education in consultation with the Reich College of Education Scholarship Committee.
