The National Pan-Hellenic Council Divine Nine Leadership Award

The mission of The National Pan-Hellenic Council Divine Nine Leadership Endowment is to provide financial assistance to active members of a National Pan-Hellenic Council Divine Nine organization at Appalachian State University for effective leadership and professional development, so they can become the next generation of transformational leaders in their organizations, communities, and professions.

The Divine Nine organizations are:
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity.

The endowment provides financial assistance for full-time, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior degree-seeking students with any major that is recognized at Appalachian. Funds are to be used exclusively for supplemental leadership and professional development. Candidates must be in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be an active member of an NPHC Divine Nine Chapter that is in good standing with Appalachian. Preference accrues to candidates with a minimum of 20 hours of community service (may be required to provide evidence) and who currently hold, or held within the last academic year, a leadership position on campus. Awards are non-renewable.
