James E. Young First Generation Current Scholarship

To provide scholarship support to an undergraduate student who is majoring in a course of study in the Department of Geography and Planning within the College of Arts and Sciences. Whenever possible, preference in the selection of recipients shall accrue to students who are first generation college students. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, although verification of need (FAFSA) is not required. Awards are renewable provided the recipient continues to meet the above criteria and maintains a minimum grade point average of 3 .0 or higher. Administration related to this scholarship is the responsibility of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in coordination with the Chair of the Department of Geography and Planning.
