Byron and Bonnie Bean Family Jazz Trombone Scholarship Endowment

To provide scholarship support for student musicians proficient in trombone performance. Applicants need not be majoring in music. Applicants will be required to audition and should possess musical skills and musicianship of the highest caliber in trombone performance, as determined by the Director of Jazz Studies. The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and if the recipient is majoring in music, a minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained in the music curriculum. In addition, the recipient must audition and register for Jazz Ensemble 1 each semester unless the Director of Jazz Studies consents to the omission of this course from the student’s curriculum. Recipients are encouraged to audition and participate in other Hayes School of Music ensembles.
